Lucy Wise

Clinical Psychologist

Lucy is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience, having worked in a range of different settings including the Public Sector (Disability Services, Adult Community Mental Health) and Private Practice. She uses evidence based practice and uses treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders. 

Lucy has a particular interest in working with PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, ADHD and Major Mental Illness.  She has a particular interest in early intervention programs to assist workers to return to work quickly after physical or psychological injury.  She is a Credentialed Eating Disorders Practitioner (ANZAED) and an accredited EMDRAA EMDR practitioner, in addition to being an AHPRA assessor.

Lucy holds Psychology Board Supervisor status, and she supervises psychologists at all stages of their career to develop skill across several different areas of their careers. Lucy currently works Monday to Friday at Launceston Psychology Clinic.

Kylie Wolstencroft

Equine Assisted Therapy

Kylie is a Registered Psychologist with over 25 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and adults.

Kylie has worked extensively in educational settings and more recently in private practice supporting children, young people and their families with a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, social skills and friendship issues.

Kylie uses evidence based practice and treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, EMDR, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Play and Art Therapies. Kylie has long recognised the therapeutic benefits of working alongside animals and her trained and certified therapy dog Paddington is available for both children and adults.

Kylie has also recently commenced offering Equine Assisted Therapy to clients who may benefit from this approach. Equine Assisted Therapy is an adjunct therapy conducted outdoors with equines (horses, ponies and donkeys). It is developed and theoretically underpinned by evidence based modalities and is a skills based program to support clients to learn mindfulness, emotional regulation, relaxation and coping strategies.

Clients may also choose to access this outdoor setting for counselling as many report “walking and talking in nature” as a more enjoyable and relaxing option for participation in therapy.

Lily is a psychologist with experience in adolescent and adult mental health. She uses evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and incorporates mindfulness-based strategies into her practice. Lily is interested in providing a safe and judgment free space for her clients to better understand and improve their mental health.

Molly Taylor

Psychologist 

Molly is a Psychologist with experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. Molly uses evidence based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Molly also uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) and MANTRA. 

Molly works with all ages with a range of presenting concerns, however has a particular interest in eating disorders and body image difficulties, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. Molly conducts assessments for bariatric surgery, along with cognitive and academic assessments. She is a credentialed eating disorder clinician with ANZAED.

Shontelle Morley

Practice Manager

Shontelle is our Practice Manager here at the Launceston Psychology Clinic. She is the friendly face you will find in reception and on the phone. Working closely with our clinicians, she has over 10 years in administration and customer service.  As your first point of contact, Shontelle ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the business through assisting with all appointment, referral, medicare, and general enquiries.

Holly is a psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She takes a flexible and client-centred approach using evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour.

Holly is interested in providing assessment and therapy for a range of mental health conditions including anxiety and mood disorders, persistent pain, and adjustment to life stressors.

Libby Grubert

Psychologist

Libby Grubert is a fully registered Psychologist with an extensive background working with children and adolescents.  She has worked in Education and not for profit for the last 17 years and has worked in private practice for the last 5 years.  She has an interest in anxiety and depression, OCD, trauma, and addiction.  She is also able to assess and provide interventions and adjustments for young people with a variety of learning and behavioural issues.  She works from a CBT model, but utilises, DBT, ACT and Schema theory where appropriate. Libby enjoys spending time with her children, gardening, cooking, reading, and getting out in nature.

Emma Keen

Psychologist
Emma is a psychologist with over 15 years’ experience in the mental health sector, working across both public and private practice settings. She has extensive experience supporting adults with a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, grief, loss, complex trauma, body image and eating concerns.

Emma is flexible and collaborative in her approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based psychological therapies to best support each client, including EMDR, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Her areas of special interest include vicarious trauma, sports and performance psychology, ADHD and anxiety disorders. Emma is particularly passionate about working in the burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma space to assist those in high-impact professions to retain career longevity and wellbeing.

Emma is an EMDR accredited consultant with EMDRAA (EMDR Association Australia) and is available for EMDR consultation and to assist practitioners to work towards EMDRAA accreditation. She also holds additional qualifications in Social Work and Nutrition, and is available for professional supervision for Social Workers, offering support through the mental health accreditation process.

Richard McMinn

Psychologist

Richard is a psychologist with experience in the assessment and treatment of adolescents and young adults. He takes a flexible and client-centred approach using evidence-based therapies. He is trained and experienced in the use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Richard has a particular interest in working with athletes at all levels to develop the psychological skills to boost their performance. He also provides therapy for a range of mental health conditions including anxiety and mood disorders and adjustment to life stressors.

Richard is an active member of Tasmania’s sporting community and has worked to support a range of individuals and sporting clubs and groups. He works with the full spectrum of competition including recreational participants and local representatives, all the way through to athletes competing at world championship events. He has experience working with people from a broad range of sports and enjoys learning the intricacies of each sport so he can adapt his knowledge to provide the best psychological approach for the client.

Smoak

Clinical Psychologist

Smoak is a Clinical Psychologist and Board endorsed clinical supervisor. 

Smoak has a person centred approach to therapy that is tailored to each individual client, supported by a range of evidence based therapeutic frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) and ACT. 

Smoak has worked in academic roles as a lecturer and academic supervisor and is currently part of the international assessment team for the Certificate of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (CPAT)*.  

Smoak has experience working with a wide variety of populations and presentations including Gender Dysphoria management and transition support, management of ADHD particularly late diagnosed adults and therapeutic management and integration of non psychotic non ordinary states of consciousness, such as PAT integration. 

Please note that Smoak is a Clinical Psychologist and is not able to offer Psychedelic Assisted Therapy dosing sessions. Smoak’s work at LPC, and through online National consultation, has focused on integration of experiences of non ordinary states of consciousness after medical trials involving psychedelic substances including positive ontological shock and ‘bad trip’ integration. 

Non ordinary states can also stem from practices such as: 
– Meditation  
– Breathwork 
– Psychedelic medicines 

Smoak has a meditation practice spanning over 30 years, is a CPAT graduate and assessor, and has participated in a range of breathwork training, therefore is able to support integration based on clinical experience and contemporary research into this emerging area.  

Smoak is committed to providing evidence based clinical practices to support clients to achieve significant and lasting improvement in their psychological resilience and overall enjoyment of their lives. 


* CPAT, through Mind Medicine Australia (MMA) is Australia’s first psychedelic assisted therapist training program to receive official Australian Medical Council endorsement

Ashleigh Thurm

Psychologist

Ashleigh is a Psychologist who works across the lifespan using evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy, to help treat a variety of presenting concerns. She has experience working with anxiety, depression and stress, however, has a particular interest in working with children and pre-teens, as well as neurodivergent clients. She is currently working through her Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders training and hopes to incorporate this into her work with clients with Autism and ADHD who also experience eating difficulties.

Ashleigh conducts cognitive and academic assessments, however, has a special interest in seeing individuals 16-years-old and above for Autism assessments. Ashleigh works at Launceston Psychology Clinic on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. When not at work, you will find her reading a good book, making Lego or walking her two greyhounds.

Megan Breden

Counsellor

Megan is a Provisional Counsellor who enjoys working with adults, supporting them to develop therapeutic skills and strategies they need to improve their lives. Megan uses evidence-based interventions, particularly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her work with clients.

Megan has had a broad work experience prior to joining the Clinic including roles in the public and not for profit sectors. Megan works with people experiencing the symptoms of anxiety and depression, difficulties in their primary or important relationships, returning to work after psychological injuries, separation, or post separation issues. Megan enjoys supporting people to achieve their goals, improve their physical and mental wellbeing within a warm and safe therapeutic environment.

Megan works at the clinic Tuesdays 9-5pm and Wed 9-1pm.

Sharon Lawson

Administration

Sharon is part of our reception team and you will see her two days a week at LPC. She has over 40 years of customer service experience across various roles throughout her career.  With a keen eye for detail and a passion for customer service, Sharon is a wonderful addition to our admin team.

Jessie Hipwood

Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

Jessie is a Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a strong interest in attachment and relational trauma, perinatal mental health, parenting stress, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. She works with adults and parents who are navigating the emotional impact of trauma, life transitions, and the complexities of close relationships.

Jessie holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW), and is a COPE-accredited practitioner. Jessie is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a full member of the EMDR Australia Association (EMDRAA™).

Jessie’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative. Jessie draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and family systems theory. This allows therapy to be tailored to each individual’s needs, values, and lived experiences.

Jessie is particularly passionate about supporting individuals and parents during the perinatal period, helping clients understand how attachment patterns and past experiences can influence current emotions, relationships, and parenting. Her aim is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful and sustainable changes.

Jodie Wise

Jodie joined the team in 2023, as a Provisional Psychologist. Jodie has an extensive background working in Allied Health. She has since completed her Master of Professional Psychology and is near completion of her sixth Internship year.

Jodie uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Jodie works with individuals of all ages with anxiety, depression, grief, neurodiversity, and managing life transitions and stress.

As a provisional psychologist, Jodie is continuing to build her skills and knowledge base, in order to obtain her general Psychologist registration. Jodie offers a safe and non-judgemental environment, to better assist her clients to explore and improve their mental health.

Hannah joined the team in 2024 as a Provisional Psychologist and is pleased to continue her work with the practice as a fully registered Psychologist.

She uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to support individuals across the lifespan.

Hannah has a particular interest in working with anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence. She adopts a warm, empathic approach and works collaboratively with clients from diverse backgrounds to help them better understand and improve their mental health.

Justine McDermott

Justine is a registered Psychologist. She has an extensive background in workplace related wellbeing and psychological safety, having worked in the Corporate sector for thirty years.

She supports adults with anxiety, stress and burnout, workplace related conflict and relationship distress; life and career transitions. 

She also has an interest in women’s health and wellbeing, including positive aging, relationship matters, life transitions, intimacy, grief and loss. 

She works from a CBT model, and utilises, DBT, ACT and Buddhist informed psychotherapy. Justine enjoys spending her spare time outdoors, riding her horses, bushwalking and gardening.

Sally Beaumont

Sally is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience, working across a range of clinical settings including the public sector—such as Adult Community Mental Health Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and Alcohol and Drug Services—as well as in private practice.
 
She draws on a range of evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy.
 
Sally has a strong interest in working with complex mental health presentations, including co-morbidities such as First Episode Psychosis, Delusional Disorders, Major Depressive Disorder, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), along with other major mental health conditions.
 
She has a particular interest in early intervention programs that assist workers and First Responders in returning to work following physical or psychological injury. In addition, Sally has experience working with Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) clients, with a focus on supporting reintegration into civilian life and promoting long-term adjustment and wellbeing.
 
Sally is a Board-approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia and provides supervision to a range of psychologists, from students to early and mid-career professionals. 
 
She is currently available for appointments Tuesday to Friday at the Launceston Psychology Clinic.

Will Heathcote

Psychologist

Will is a Registered Psychologist who completed a Master in Clinical Psychology at Griffith University in Brisbane. He is passionate about working with adults and adolescents, supporting clients with a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social difficulties, and autism spectrum disorders.

Will utilises evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). With extensive experience as a meditation practitioner, he integrates mindfulness and compassion-based techniques into his work where appropriate.

Will is passionate about helping people find their own path in life and create a sense of meaning and fulfilment. He prioritises a collaborative and supportive therapeutic space, ensuring clients feel safe, accepted, and understood.

Amy Farrell

Amy is a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health), specializing in Psychosexual Therapy. She works with adults (18+) in therapy and provides psychological assessments for individuals of all ages.

Amy has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating relationship challenges—whether in family, romantic, workplace, or parenting contexts. She is passionate about helping people heal from traumatic relationships and adapt and thrive in periods of major life transition and change. She also has expertise in psychometric assessment for cognitive, developmental, and academic performance.

With specialised training in sexual and reproductive health, Amy works with clients experiencing concerns related to sexuality, sexual functioning, gender identity, fertility, pregnancy, and parenting. She has experience in perinatal mental health, offering support to individuals and couples facing the emotional complexities of conception, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and parenting stress. She also provides guidance for those experiencing sexual difficulties, including pain, desire discrepancies, intimacy concerns, and the impact of medical conditions on sexual wellbeing.

Amy’s approach is flexible, client-centred, and grounded in evidence-based therapies. She is committed to providing diversity-affirming care and creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel understood and supported.

Sue is part of our reception team and you will see her in the clinic 3 days per week. She has over 40 years of admin experience, including legal and educational settings, and is passionate about customer service. Sue is a very valued member of our admin team.

Charlotte Oates Pryor

Admin

Charlotte joined our team as a part of her working gap year. She intends to become an allied health professional herself someday and is beginning her career as a receptionist for three days a week here at LPC. Charlotte is a welcoming and conscientious member of LPC, quickly finding her feet in the world of customer service and administration.

Jimmy is a one-year-old Cavoodle who works alongside Kylie. Specially trained to assist in therapeutic settings, Jimmy brings fun, friendly presence to Launceston Psychology Clinic, helping clients feel safe, supported, and at ease.

He has a special love for children and is known for his gentle nature and playful spirit. Whether he’s showing off his tricks or soaking up tummy rubs, Jimmy knows just how to lift the mood and bring a smile to everyone he meets.

Jimmy’s unique ability to balance calm companionship with bursts of joyful energy makes him a cherished part of our therapeutic team. He’s here to help make your journey a little lighter – and a lot more cuddly.
